Lightning

A model of electrical lightning on a Plexiglas plate.

On a Plexiglas plate we make small holes and put pins in them in such a way that they do not have contact. We apply an electrical voltage difference between two of the pins.

We can observe chaotic, accidental electrical dischargements between the pins. In this way we can model electric lightning in the atmosphere.
